How it's made

Step 1 - Heat treating the wood
We purchase birch from our local area in Hälsingland. The birch is heat treated to get the ultimate attributes for outdoor kitchens.

Step 2 - Planing and gluing
After heat treatment, the wood is planed so that we get the right proportions for everything. Next, we glue glue-joints in our glue wheel. The wheel acts as a number of glue jacks that can be rotated as the workpieces are glued and clamped.

Step 3 - Sanding
The first thing we do after gluing is planing off the glue. Next, we sand the glue joints so that we get a really nice and smooth surface.

Step 4 - Treating the wood with oil
We oil the wood with paraffin oil which is odorless and colourless. Even though the oil is colourless, the kitchen initially becomes a little darker, which dulls somewhat during the first few weeks.

Step 5 - Assembly and details
All adhesive joints can be screwed together into modules. We also prepare for doors, electricity, shelves and other details.
